Back to School and the Croup

Kate's finally napping today after a long night at the E.R. for all of us. She had only a cough all yesterday afternoon, but then she woke in the middle of the night, coughing, throwing up and unable to breathe. We took her to the hospital where she got some steroids and some long, unwanted time with the cold-air machine. Poor little thing! All she wanted to do was go home and sleep.

Today also just happened to be my first day back at school. It sucked. All I wanted to do was stay home with Kate, but the teacher can't very well miss the first day of school. I can't figure out why these things always have such poor timing.

Anyway, she seems to be doing better today. She has no voice, and is feverish, but she's been sleeping for a couple of hours now with no coughing keeping her awake.

***So sorry, Ricks (in advance). You totally helped me with a project for school, dropped it off at my house, and all I could do to repay you is get your kids infected I'm sure. I promise I didn't know.

  1. I'm glad she's doing a little better. I am sooooo sorry if she got it from Parker which she probably did. I feel horrible. Hayden doesn't have much of a voice either and is a little fevered. Lets just hope they are all better soon

  3. Croup is just no fun. I'm sorry to say we're experts out of necessity. Thomas got it frequently... in fact, any time he cried!

So happy to be able to stalk you now! *wink*
