Grandma Sherrie threw one heck of grandkid Halloween party with endless games and prizes.
Pumpkin carving!!! Two was all we managed to do, but good enough:
Mrs. Reiber, Kate’s Kindergarten teacher, invited all of her students and families to her farm one Saturday in October. There were farm animals to pet, a train to ride, and fresh apples and pumpkins to pick. It was there that Kate won her major award: A 117 pound pumpkin, which she won for guessing its weight. Maybe this means she’ll be good at math?!!! Either way, we were proud, although it was quite the trick lugging the pumpkin from there to home;) :
We got ourselves Cornbelly's Season Passes this year, making for a whole lot of harvesty fun:
And, last but not least, Kate strutted her stuff at the Halloween Parade at school. I was sick for this, mind you, but decided infecting everyone else was a small price to pay for a 5-year-old’s confidence to not get crushed. Yeah, I’m a nice mom like that:
Being sick is definitely not the way I like my Halloween going down, but we ended up having an okay one inspite of it all.
Bummer that you were sick. I'm pretty sure it's probably ok that you attended the Halloween parade, seeing as how the illness most likely came from the school in the first place. Your kids looked adorable!
ReplyDeleteSuch cute ghouls! So sorry to miss out on your favorite day of the year.
ReplyDeleteYeah, so who are you blaming for getting the flu? And did you get a flu shot?
ReplyDeleteThe blue guy with the wig is sort of disturbing.
Poo! Hope you are feeling better. Your kids are so stinkin' cute. I'd love to see them in real life! :)
