A Little Glimpse…

into our weekend:

017

Count them.  That’s right. SIX.  Six children all under our care for 4 whole days!  This wasn’t our first time parenting the 6, just the first time with 2 of them puking (one of them being Kate), and the rest of them with colds.  Lovely.  Luckily, everyone was mostly recuperated by Saturday, allowing us to get out.  Buca di Beppo and Cornbelly’s provided for a nice escape.   008

So here we are posing with the pumpkin man.  As you can see, Kate bravely sat right next to him.  But you better believe, she wasn’t about to take her eyes off of him!  After the photo the dude told her, “Someday you’re going to laugh at this picture.” I know it makes me laugh.

And what would a good time be without standing behind a cutout and getting your picture taken?

And the last thing I’ll say is DARN that Boy Scouts of America Corn Maze!  That thing was near impossible.  Lucky we had my resourceful husband!  He used his phone to upload an aerial view of the maze, enabling us to escape our fate of becoming children of the corn.

Inspite of the BSA…always a good time to be had at the Cornbelly’s.  One of my favorite events of the year, that’s for sure.

  1. Six kids for four days??? I am impressed! Hopefully you get some long weekend away for that. Way to go!

  2. They took their weekend FIRST when we (Dave's brother and sister-in-law) had six kids. I can't complain though. Once you have 5 kids, and the mountains (I think that is what Dave called it) of laundry that come with them, what's one more. Going from 1 to 6 is a far cry from 5 to 6.

However, given that one of mine was sick along with Kate, I will agree I owe them big time!! Luckily they are great to my kids, so ....

  3. You two have no fear! Taking a family of eight out... and into a maze. Way to whip out the phone and get the brady bunch out of danger Dave! Was that a survival skill they taught you back in scouts?

  4. I know - that maze was impossible! We found a worker and made him lead us out. We had 7 screaming kids. Not fun. Glad you survived the week! Thinking of you this week. :) Let's hear it for Kid 2!

  5. You have such a good attitude. I guess I just don't deal with crowds well or something (it must come from George). The BSA maze just did me in.
