It’s been one crazy week! The day after Kate’s bday, I started packing up my entire classroom and moving it into boxes in my basement. Nothing weirder than packing away the last decade of my life; but also, so exciting! I’m so looking forward to being at home next year with my two babies. Now that the moving has almost ceased, I finally have a moment to catch up on the rest of life…and the blog. So…
To celebrate, Miss Kate wanted to party Mermaid-style. The talented, Dave, made these cutest cupcakes, as well as ordered all sorts of Mermaid decor.
Then on Sunday, we had my family over for Party #1. We did a little dinner and presents with them…
and then a few hours later, we hosted party #2 with Dave’s family. Party Dos, featured cake and icecream, and Brazilian lemonade, and of course, more presents.
Kate came out with a whole lot of loot. Our family room has been a mess for days with her new toys. While there were many favorites, her new Cinderella dress and princess scooter probably take the cake.
On Monday, which was her real birthday, we hit Shrek 4. Kate would tell you she loved it; I, on the other hand, would tell you she was very concerned and nervous for most of the movie. Later, Kate received a phone call from the Little Mermaid herself ( a real hit) and then we went out to dinner. Brick Oven… we heart you. But, mostly, we heart our little girl. Happy Birthday, Baby Kate.
I just love that top picture of Kate. What a beauty! Happy Birthday Baby Kate!
ReplyDeleteI know it's weird to pack up your teaching life, but what was weirder to me was the fact that you put that you'll be staying home with your "babies". Maybe it's the fact that you don't look pregnant, but it just hit me that you'll have 2 kids!
P.S. We have got to party like it's 1999 this summer. (Although not really like it's 1999 because that would involve the Barbie Van, chocoblasts, no money, possibly some wigs, and no boyfriends.)
Happy Birthday Baby Kates! We are so happy to know you pretty girl! And Aish, Linds, I want in on the 1999 partying...for reals! :) And you look fab Aish. Seriously, check out the Target, Liz Lange, that is some stylish shiz :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats Kate! You are so beautiful! I bet you will be the best big sissy to little brother! What fun. I will miss seeing you my friend at work, hopefully I can keep myself away from that building as much as possible. call me
ReplyDeleteSo does this mean you're finished teaching? You're staying home now with both kids? That will be an adjustment. Hopefully you enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteI put Brady on the toilet every 20 minutes the first two days. Of course he only went half the time, but no accidents and it built his confidence. The next days were every 30 minutes to an hour. After that I frequently asked him, whenever I remembered. Then he started doing the dance so I knew it was time to take him. Eventually they're supposed to go on their own, but we're still working on that part. He's about 50/50 but it's been 9 months! Good luck and most importantly, be persistant.
