The worst thing today was...the COLD. I hate to be repetitive here, but when you're visiting a destination that boasts having warm weather, it's pretty crappy when you pick to come during the "unseasonably cold" weather.
The funniest thing today was... getting trapped on the Carousel of Progress. It's an old ride that Disneyland once had, but now it's just at Disneyworld (I wonder why?) Anyway, you sit in a theater-like room and listen to this animatronic dude talk about all the technological advances that came in each decade. Once he finishes his shpeel, the theater revolves or "progresses" to another room where this same man (only older) talks about how much better the next decade is.
Anywho, I think we were in 40's decade when the ride had a little malfunction. Instead of progressing to the next room, the ride stopped and the dude would start over and over and over again. A worker got on the horn and told people to stay seated, but COME ON...there was only so much we could take. Dave, Kate, and I disobeyed the worker and ditched the rest of our party.Today we tried...comparing Disneyland's rides to Disneyworld's (to see which park had the better ride) and the result was...
Better at Disneyland: Pirates of the Caribbean, Winnie the Pooh, Small World
Better at Disneyworld: Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion, Snow White, Peter Pan, Thunder Mountain.
***Looks like Disneyworld wins!
The most magical moment today was....coming around the bend on Mainstreet USA and seeing and hearing Kate say, "Oooh! There's Cinderella's castle!"
And because I like these pictures:
I'm thinking I need a Disney vacay. Today at the store Sabrina saw a park hopper gift card and said, "I want to go to Disneyland just like Baby Kate." We have been reading your posts together and hoping one day we too will be so lucky!
ReplyDeleteSame with us! I don't think we will hate Disneyland as much if Mc likes it and IF we go with you guys because your love is bound to rub off on us :) Plus, who can argue that Kate in the Mermaid costume, darling! So Mark and I are sick, sorry we haven't called this week. We both feel like crap!
ReplyDeleteI bet you know A LOT about the 40s after hearing that lecture over and over, huh? Awesome. And way to be rebels by ignoring the directions to stay in your seats.
ReplyDeleteAnd that is really sad that it was so cold there!
