Vacation Day 1: Getting to Florida

We just got back from our week-long vacation to Disneyworld; loved it...every minute of it! We went with Dave's brother's family and his parents so we had quite the crew, making for a lot of fun moments. I wanted to record my favorite memories of each day of the trip without going into great detail so I decided I'd use the format below to document our itinerary & memories:

The weather today was...typical, cold Utah weather.

The best thing today was...walking into our hotel room at The Residence Inn. It had a full kitchen and a really nice bedroom, and one very comfortable bed calling my name.

The worst thing today was...our long flight; Kate's DVD player helped for a majority of the flight, but it was still pretty painful. We did lots of coloring (as shown below), along with many other activities before finally getting to Florida...at MIDNIGHT! Yuck!

The funniest thing today was...Kate imitating the Little Einsteins as they prepare for blasting off in their rocket ship. As our flight was taking off, she was shouting, "Pat..pat..pat...pat! We need more power!" Only funny, I suppose, to those of you who follow the Disney Channel cartoons.

Today we tried...flying to Orlando for our very first time

and the result was...we did it!

The most magical moment today was...walking through Orlando's Airport. It's a really nice place as far as airports go. They have a subway-style traincar that you hop onto to get to the baggage claim--kind of cool, I thought. I realize this is kind of a sad magical moment for the day, but when you're on a plane all day, there's not much magic to be had.
