I knew this day would come

Actually, I thought we were in the clear, which is why I, personally, handed my child some scissors and said, “Sure, we can do some arts and crafts!”

I was told we’d be making a nice garden scene with grass made of green paper and such. Mmm…lovely.

I suggested we add a flower or two. “What a great idea!” Kate encouraged.

Oh, how I was duped. With a snip here and there, this is the arts and crafts our little Kate made.Kate's self haircut 003

After assessing the damage, it appears she chose an okay spot to chop at; it’s not horribly noticeable. But it was a good chunk of hair. Discussions were had.  There will be no more scissor-usage for a while, and only Cookie Cutters will cut our hair.

  1. Oh dear! That does look like a lot. Abby did it not too long ago. I'm just waiting for Bree. :) -Kelly

  2. A rite of passage in childhood. At least she didn't cut YOUR hair!

  3. Well, well. Look who's the blogger of the day?! Sorry about the hair, but it could have been in the front, at the scalp. A tender mercy that it wasn't as Kate's long hair is a thing of beauty.

  4. So sorry about the hair. I have no idea how but none of our kids have cut their hair. Should I be wondering if they're normal? But Luke did cut his lip with scissors the other day. He told me "I thought it was a piece of paper." Whatever. He didn't like the tiny drop of blood and will surely never do that again.

  5. We've escaped the self hair-cutting drama at our house thus far, but we're definitely not out of the woods. All I can do is keep the scissors up high and just hope for the best.
