Okay, so big accomplishment:
Sunday after church, Kate up and decided she was going to be a big girl. I'll try to spare you the details, but in short...from noon till bedtime she kept the star of her undies, Princess Aurora, dry. We're not too sure where her motivation came from, but we think it had to do with a little peer pressure from her friends in nursery. Kate's motivation ceased on Day 2 (and so did mine), but I was glad to know that once she gets serious about it, she can actually do it.
Big disaster:
Last night-1:00am, 3:00am, 5:00am, & 6:20 am. Someone (I'll bet you can guess who) suddenly decided that she "can't want" to sleep in her big girl bed anymore. As a result, this same little someone kept trying to sneak into Mom and Dad's bed at various times in the night. I held my ground and kept returning her back to her bed. After one night of this, I'm desperately hoping it doesn't happen again, but am pretty convinced that it will. We've gathered that she's been having bad dreams from the little things that she says, and it makes us really sad for her, but my bed (and who sleeps in it) is not negotiable...
And so it begins with the sleeping thing. I've heard this from my sister and pretty much all my friends with kids. My sister-in-law keeps her son's door open, but puts up a baby gate in the doorway so he can't get out of his room. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThey pretty much all go through some sort of sleep problem at this age. Stick to your guns, or you'll be sorry. Trust me...we're just barely getting Ella (4 years old) back into the habit of falling asleep by herself. Pathetic, I know.
ReplyDeletePotty training is something I am DEFINITELY not looking forward to. Once it is done, it will be amazing but the leading up to, not so much. Mc has never slept in our bed but she has turned into a climber which means I feel the days of her sleeping in her crib are drawing to a close. GREAT! Let the countdown to Utah begin- I will be there 2/4! :)
ReplyDeleteI am so thankful that Braeden has not spent one minute asleep in our bed, but I am sure that can all change! And good luck with the potty training - SO not looking forward to that, espcially with a little boy. I may just make Evan do it ;)
ReplyDeleteWay to be tough, don't give in! Hopefully potty training won't take too long. I'm sure the princess panties help. Good luck.
