What a Kid

Yesterday Kate and I had the following conversation while trying to get her dressed for the day.
"No, not that one," she said after I picked a shirt for her.
"Okay, than you pick one," I told her.
She then pointed to her swimsuit cover-up,
"This one?" she asked
"No."
Next, she pointed to another swimsuit cover-up,
"This one?"
"No."
Then, she pointed to her winter coat and asked,
"How about this one?"
"Nope."
Last, she pointed to her Princess Belle dress,
"This one?"
"Okay."
We had a winner. Now you know why parents let their kid dress up as Superman to go to the grocery store. Sometimes it's the only outfit THEY want to wear that will actually cover their whole body.

Later for lunch, Kate sat down to a bowl of Spaghettios and apple slices. I couldn't help but laugh as she dipped the apple slices in her Spaghettios. "Whatever makes her happy," I thought.

  1. Yep. Mind of their own. "Whatever works" is the motto of life. Lucy is eating cheerios off the floor right now, and I'm just glad she's eating something edible. How's that for "second child syndrome"? I will never poke fun of character clothes again!

  2. Oh yeah...some battles are not worth fighting. I suppose that's why Ella has on earmuffs and a coat over her dress today. I'm to the point where I just don't care anymore. We're lucky if they all get out of their pajamas.

  3. You are so good to let her choose!

  4. You are so funny...I did like character clothes either...then you have a a baby and if it will get them dressed, heck it does not even have to match!

  5. I think boys don't hit that stage until later. Brady occasionally requests his BYU t-shirt, but otherwise he wears whatever I pick. I'm in no rush for an opinionated dresser.
