shag carpet,
beautifully weaved wall hangings, circa 1960's couches,
creepy chandeliers, some lovely floral print wall-paper and decor in the bathrooms,
and my personal favorite, this lovely print as a focal point,
I mean...you seriously could not find this stuff anymore even if you tried. It was awesome. I quickly realized that our surroundings actually made for a good time; mostly because there was no damage we could do to make the place look worse, and also because we shared the condo with Ryan and Adrienne, which made for a lot of fun.
We spent most of our days laying on the beach; burning my white skin, building sand castles, and floating and swimming in the lake.

Dave and I also saw our very first show @ the Pickleville Playhouse while we were there. We sat on the very front row, and Kate was such a good girl for the whole show. The main character, Juanito Bandito (a Nacho Libresque bandit) was pretty funny.
After the show we ate at the Western Cookout. Kate was starved. I couldn't get her to eat anything else but steak!
On Sunday, Dave, Kate and I went to church and saw Quentin L. Cook, an apostle of the church. He spoke and we were so glad we got to hear him. All in all, super fun and memorable. I can't wait to go back next year.

ReplyDeleteWe need to go do something before we have to go back to school!

ReplyDeleteYou guys have had one heck of a summer! You have been all over the place! The decor in your condo was truly one of a kind. Kate is a doll!
ReplyDeleteThat must be the same decor and condo we stayed in on my first and only trip to the Bear Lake nearly 20 years ago. SAH-WEET. Glad you guys had an awesome time. I wasn't aware that apostles visited Bear Lake wards often. How's that for timing on our part?!
ReplyDeleteI meant "your" part as the Sampsons weren't on your trip. (Although that would have been a party!)
ReplyDeleteNow the Sampsons, Blackhurts AND the Williamsons- the ultimate :) I actually know the dude that owns Cafe Sabor. He was a PR/marketing guy. It has done pretty well and been there the longest I think. That trip looks fun. Wish we could have gone.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Bear Lake. Great times! Condo looked interesting :) Excited to see you soon!!!
