It only took 58,000 Disney movie purchases and a half a decade, but we finally saved enough "Disney Rewards Points" to actually earn something! Sure, we could have cashed out earlier on stinky pins, stickers, and other lame-o Disney memorabilia. But we held strong for the Cinderella sleeping bag, pillow, and carrying case. Kate was certainly thrilled.
We had a great Saturday night! We got to kick it with our California peop's, Laney and Matt. We went to Cowboy Grub in SLC, which was truly unique (so was the waiter that served us, come to think of it). Lucky for us, they live in Utard now so we can actually continue hanging out with them. Tonight's the night! My first den meeting is only hours away. Dave keeps telling me that I'm making too big of a deal out of this whole scouts thing, but I'm not so sure. These 9 and 10 years olds could eat me alive if it's not a totally awesome event! I think it's best to "be prepared" (no pun intended...well, maybe a little).
Ha ha I have no idea how old I was, but yes I definitely remember! Those were the gold old days... They seriously were dragging us around on that tube for hours ha ha. I didn't even know you had a blog! I'm glad you commented so I can check in on you guys from time to time.
ReplyDeleteHey you---I am so glad you left a comment on my blog--I did not like them at first, but it is a really fun way to keep in touch! Your baby is so cute...how old is she now?
ReplyDeleteWow! What a cute sleeping bag. Too bad I didn't save my points. You guys were "Prepaired." Good job.
ReplyDeleteYou always were a saver. I remember you saving a whole $50 or $60 dollars as a kid in contrast to your lame-o friend who couldn't save more than $10. ($10 dollars could buy me a whole toy at Sprouse-Ritz) I'm sure Sabrina will be supremely jealous of Kate and her sleeping bag.
ReplyDeleteDid you know Nesquik has collect-and-get promotions every fall? Last year you could get a set of anniversary glasses with the Nesquik bunny on them, with the purchase of only SIX Nesquik bottles. Way less than the 58,000 Disney purchases you had to make...
ReplyDeleteI see you stole my photo of us off my blog. Is that legal? Don't you owe me money for copyright infringement?
Hey friends! I can't believe how long Kate's hair is! Wish we lived in Utah so someday in the NEAR future Mckinley and Kate can have a sleepover...oh and on Biggest Loser...I think I told you I used to work with Blaine. He is doing pretty well but didn't win. He is already home. Anyway- miss you guys! XOXO
ReplyDeleteYay. Aish blogs. Way to save those points, you two. Look! She's so happy. Totally worth it. And 9 and 10 year olds will NOT eat you alive, unless you give them candy. Once you do, the precedent is set, and it's all over. They're like stray cats. Just don't feed them for real.
