Timp Cave Hike

Let me tell you, Timp Cave is something we’ve wanted to take our kids to for probably 7 years now! Unfortunately, we’ve proven to be a less than outdoorsy and sporty family than we’d like to admit. This was the year! We bit the bullet and scheduled our hike on Pioneer Day.

On the way up, it was fun to hear Cole thinking aloud, “There might be butterflies and all beautiful things in the cave.” Sweet Cole<3 !!!

The kids did great climbing that mountainside. It helped going early in the morning and not having to battle the summer heat.

Don’t let the backpack pics fool you! Max insisted on being carried (in arms) for most of the hike.

Alas…the cave!

Neat experience. Would have been about 100% neater if we had gotten to enjoy the cave in its entirety. About 2 minutes in, Max started screaming and couldn’t be consoled. And about 10 minutes in, Cole needed to pee (again). Thus, the mom and the little boys had to prematurely exit and wait outside for the cave tour to conclude. At least we all made it in and a fun family memory was made!
