Thanksgiving 2009

Another successful Thanksgiving came and went. Here's a few memories we didn't want to forget:
1st- Before the break, my third grade class had a little Thanksgiving feast of our own. We lined up the desks so it was one big table; and enjoyed soup, rolls, veggie sticks, pumpkin pie and punch (not quite your traditional feast, but good, nonetheless).
We took turns going around the table and saying what we were thankful for; a few kids even thought to mention their teachers...

2nd-We welcomed a new niece over the break; she is truly a beauty! Here she is meeting her Great Grandma Nelson for the very first time.
3rd- We welcomed Dave's turkey:
--never a disappointment.

4th- We had our feast at my parents' house. Grandma Sherrie planned a gingerbread house decorating event. As you can see, Kate and her cousins really enjoyed themselves.

5th- Kate broke her foot; more about that in my next post.

In short, mostly a very happy Thanksgiving.

  1. Sounds like a great Thanksgiving...well other than poor little Kate! I sure hope it heals quickly and how it's supposed to.

  2. Those mini chairs in your classroom are so cute.

I can't believe Dave is such a gourmet cook. That turkey looked amaaaaazing.

  3. Perhaps I should save my "I'm SO SORRY!" comment for the next post, but I really am SO SORRY!! Who knew Sabrina had such brute strength? Or that my 70s bed was so poorly made (well, that part I knew)? Whatever happened, I am SO SORRY!! I hope you got our get well soon gift. I knocked but no one answered, or maybe you saw me and thought about not opening the door for fear that sight of me may injure her again!
